a few more days at home (enjoying mom's cooking and all that).
The rest of the week was tough.
We run a single and then two days of doubles, and did that twice before taking Sunday off. Our kids were tired by end of practice on Saturday. We are swimming well, kicking hard, and eating a lot. A steady supply of bagels and fruit is on hand before, during, and after every practice. Our trainers keep a cooler full of cold water on the deck, and the pool sound system keeps us supplied with a steady stream of good tunes. Trinity has the best dorms in the nation and our administration has provided us with a generous food allowance. This WTC is about as economical as it can possibly get. The only investment our team has to make is time and energy and they are performing well on that count.
A bit of noteworthy news for our fans. Sophomore, Lisa Tucci, last year's SCAC 400 IM champion and our team's conference meet high point athlete, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer just after exams. She struggled with fatigue all this past fall, but had a good attitude and did an excellent job with her academic course work. She had surgery on New Year's Eve and is now recovering at home. We miss her and hope she'll be back with us soon. A tough kid, no doubt! That's what we mean by BE A TIGER!!
Here's wishing each and every person reading our Trinity University Swimming and Diving Blog a very Happy New Year. We hope 2011 is great in every way and wish you success in all your endeavors!!
